A Frogs Habitat Frogs like to live in moist areas. They live in ponds, creeks and trees Frogs are air breathers but can stay under water for a long time. When they are underwater they breathe through their skin.

What do frogs eat? Frogs are carnivores Crickets are a frogs favourite food. Baby frogs eat baby crickets. Frogs also like to eat are any insects, like flies. For smaller frogs the wings of the fly need to be pulled off. Pet shops supply frog and tadpole bites. Like blood worms.

Stages of the frog cycle Our teacher brought frog eggs for our classroom and took care of them until they turned into tadpoles with legs. Each week we watched them grow into adult frogs.

Week 1 We researched where frogs come from, what frogs eat, the frog cycle and how to care for a frog.

Week 2-3 Our tadpoles formed legs. Insert picture from Week 2-3 Our tadpoles formed legs. We observed and took photos on our digital cameras We did a worksheet so that we wouldn’t forget what the tadpoles looked like for when we were doing our power point.

Week 4-5 The frog is now called a Froglet. It is 12 weeks old. Insert picture from Week 4-5 The frog is now called a Froglet. It is 12 weeks old. It has legs like a frog and a tail like a tadpole

Week 7-10 The Frog is now an adult. Insert picture from Week 7-10 The Frog is now an adult. We fed the frog well and gave it plenty of water so the frog grew fast into an adult by the time it was 12 week old.

Conclusion We cared for our tadpoles until they turned into adult frogs. We fed them crickets and worms and gave them lots of water. Every week during our science lesson we would take photos of our frogs on our digital cameras and complete worksheets about our frogs. Now our frogs are big we are going to put them in the local pond and let them live in the wild.
