Becoming an Exercise Physiologist Exercise physiologists have to go through a thorough education and testing process in order to become qualified to work. You will have to obtain a bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

Facts   Exercise physiologists in research study the acute and long-term mechanisms of adaptations and responses to exercise. Exercise physiologists in the health and fitness industry perform exercise tests and design exercise programs to improve athletic performance, health and decrease the risk of diseases. 

Types of Jobs As an exercise physiologist, you might work in a hospital, rehab clinic, university, fitness club, or even for a corporate entity. If you are a consultant, you might work with any number of athletic companies on the market.

Salary As an exercise physiologist, you can expect to make somewhere around $40,000. The median base salary starts out at $42,000

Basic Tasks There are many different tasks that exercise physiologists may perform in a given day. Most exercise physiologists will assist patients in rehab and help develop programs for them to use. An exercise physiologists will work with athletes in order to help them reduce injuries and recover from injuries more quickly.
