Our Mission Electing Democrats. Democrats Abroad is a State Party within the framework of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). There are 56 State Parties. As such, Democrats Abroad exists to support the Democratic Party by electing its candidates.

DA in the DNC 8 members of the Democratic National Committee (Int’l Chair + Int’l Vice Chair + 6 elected positions) 3 members of the Association of State Democratic Chairs (Int’l Chair + Int’l Vice Chair + Executive Director) 22 voting delegates to the Democratic National Convention (14 elected at the Regional Caucuses & Global Convention and the 8 sitting members of the DNC)

International Governance The governing body of Democrats Abroad worldwide is the DPCA, or Democratic Party Committee Abroad. The DPCA consists of the International Officers, DNC Members and Country Committee Chairs & Vice Chairs. The full DPCA meets at least once a year to review the prior year’s accounts, elect officers (in odd-numbered years) and transact other business on its agenda.

Compliance All our activities must be in full and absolute compliance with: Federal election law Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations DNC Charter and Bylaws DPCA Bylaws The DPCA provides additional guidelines in the form of: Code of Conduct Model Election Procedures Model Bylaws for Country Committees
