What?? We made it to the state tournament?? Just about everything you need to know to have a fabulous experience at the California Odyssey of the Mind State Tournament March 25, 2017 Heritage High School and Adams Middle School Brentwood, CA

Date/Times March 25, 2017 Heritage HS and Adams MS, Brentwood, CA (north) Performance times can begin as early as 7:30 am and can run as late as 4:30 pm Schedule will not be available until a week before the tournament due to regional tournaments not ending until mid-March (check www.calomer.org) Plan to spend the day! Dining and activity options (more details later) See other teams in other problems! It’s much nicer to perform with an audience! 8-)

Lodging Hotels are offering reduced rates and rebates to California Odyssey of the Mind (see calomer.org, state tab for more information) Although some may be booked already, check back as regional tournaments occur – some teams that booked may not have made it to the state tournament and will cancel their reservations. Nearby towns include Brentwood, Tracy, Antioch, Walnut Creek Oakland and San Francisco airports are closest, Sacramento is also a possiblity

Dining Dining trucks will be available on campus (check Calomer.org, state tab for the list of trucks coming) Fast food within driving distance includes: McDonalds (Balfour Road) Panda Express (Balfour and Fairview Ave) Wendy’s, Carl’s Jr., Five Guys, In ‘N Out, A & W, Salad Makers, Chipotle, Panda Express (Lone Tree way, north of campus) Subway, Salad Makers, Red Robin, Rubios, (Rte 4 at Sand Creek Road)

Hanging out for the day The central quad area is available for your team to set up “base camp” for the day Easy-Ups allowed If there is inclement weather, there are plenty of overhangs and the Heritage High School MPR and Gym will be open all day Pin trading – regional pin sets – meet kids from all over the state! Souvenirs – we will have a booth with lots of cool OM souvenirs Custom t-shirts

Pin Trading and Souvenirs Buy state tournament souvenir t-shirts made to order with your team member names on the back! Odyssey souvenirs and California World Finals pins for sale! Be sure to purchase regional pin sets and lanyards through the Calomer store BEFORE the tournament. Your team can trade regional pins with teams from across the state! If your team members do not complete their regional set by the end of the day, see Mark Lopes at the pin sales table and he will complete their set. Sales will be by the activities area/Bell Tower

Parking and unloading/loading Designated lots for teams to unload/load and park. Please move through loading/unloading zones as quickly as possible so all teams can have access. All coaches MUST check in at the information desk at Heritage High School to get important items for spontaneous and awards (see map).

Awards Awards will be held in the Heritage High School Gym There will be two awards’ ceremonies this year. One will start at 4:30 and the other at 6:30. Please consult the tournament schedule to determine which awards’ ceremonie to attend for your team. Parents – please refrain from going on the gym floor to take photos. Each team will have their photograph taken in front of the State Championship banner and these photos will be made available free of charge on the calomer.org website within a week of the tournament.
