“Expanding Healthcare Education throughout Idaho”

PROJECT GOAL: To meet the workforce demand of the Idaho healthcare industry by creating a platform to share educational programing through distance learning and to implement an overall statewide strategy for program-based student-support services that are supported by evidence-based practices.

TAACCCT IV: A Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant for $6.4 million was awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor to the Idaho Center of Excellence Healthcare Partnership (ICE). The ICE Project is in place to help colleges students develop the skills needed to secure viable and sustainable employment in the allied health fields. The consortium partners from across a the state of Idaho include Lewis-Clark State College, Idaho State University and North Idaho College as the lead institution. The Project’s task is to enroll 506 participants in ICE related courses. Through the ICE project, 506 students will participate in online/hybrid courses, and over 200 will attain allied health related credentials allowing them to step into the workforce possessing the needed skills and hire-ability employer partners’ need.
