Today’s Lesson will focus on Display Advertisements.

Why is advertising important? Advertising makes customers aware of what products are available.

Why is advertising important? Advertising helps launch a new product.

Why is advertising important? Advertising helps create more demand for a product.

Why is advertising important? Advertising helps increase sales.

Why is advertising important? Advertising helps educate people.

Before deciding on a product, advertisers need to decide on a TARGET GROUP.

A target group may be a certain group of people or a certain lifestyle.

A certain group of people may include, for example: parents children businesspeople housewives students teenagers athletes women

A certain lifestyle may include, for example: sporty adventurous rich techy scholarly fashionable carefree on-the-go

You will see a list of products. Write each product under the group of people you think would most likely buy it. You can use each item only once.

When making an advertisement, think about: target group graphics brand name characters copy story motivation

Making an Advertisement You will make an ad in groups of two. Think of your target group. Think of what kind of product you’d like to advertise. It cannot be an existing product.

Making an Advertisement Think of a name for your product. Think of what colors, words, or other features you’d like to put in your ad.
