RIGHT NOW Go to Viera Edline page, select "Quick Links," and choose "Launchpad.” Click the "Sign on with SAML" button. MLA Format Title your document “Romeo and Juliet Film Analysis” or give it an original title. Add your last name to the header, to the left of the page number. Formal Writing Guidelines No contractions. Change “isn’t” to “is not,” etc. Third person only. No “you,” “we,” “I,” “our,” etc. No slang or informal speech (e.g., change “guys” to “men”). Use a restrained tone. Save excitement (and exclamation points) for creative writing. Don’t refer to the paper (e.g., “As mentioned earlier . . .” or “This essay will demonstrate . . . “). Use quotations to support your ideas, not to replace them. Make “quote sandwiches;” embed short quotations inside your own sentences. No drop quotes! Paragraphs will usually consist of 9-10 sentences.
