MAINSTREAMING Sport and Recreation South Africa has ensured that its programmes encourage participation (mainstreaming) of designated groups ( gender, disability, youth and elderly person). Practice and competition venues are disability friendly and safe for women; and the elderly. The Department cooperates with the Department of Women and Department of Social Development.
PROGRAMME LOGO FOCUS EPG (Transformation Report) It reports also on participation of women and people with disabilities OBL ( Open Boxing League) Each province has 5 women boxers participating in the league out of 15 per team School Sport Championships Autumn Games Winter Games Girls participate in all the sixteen codes 56% of athletes were female Move for heath Girls, women, disabled and the elderly RASA ( Regional Annual Sport Awards) There is a special category for female and disabled athletes

PROGRAMME LOGO VENUE Youth Camp SASRECON 50% of 250 participants per province are girls (specifically youth programme) SASRECON ( South African Sport and Recreation Conference) Female speakers Women participants invited NRD ( National Recreation Day) Girls, women, disabled and the elderly Andrew Mlangeni Golf Development Young girls participate in the Development Chapter Women and the elderly participate in the Golf Day Women , men and the disabled are recognised at the green Jacket awards SASA ( South African Sport Awards ) There is a special category for female and disabled athletes The are similar categories for male and female nominees and the prize money is the same for male and female winners
