Parts of the brain Pre frontal Cortex Amygdala Slide 2: Diagram & Label of 6 Parts of the Brain: Brain Stem, Cerebellum, Amygdala, Thalamus, Cerebrum, and the Pre-frontal Cortex

Brain Facts The brain is in charge of my memory, sending messages to my body, and my feelings. To keep my brain healthy, l can eat healthy food. I can also exercise to keep healthy. The left side of the brain controls math, writing, numbers, and logic. The right side controls art, creativity, and music. The nerve cells in your brain are called neurons. The brain is a structure, and the neurons are a structure within a structure. Slide 3 Brain Facts: Answer these questions in complete sentences. (1) What are 3 things of which the brain is in charge? (2) What can you do to help your brain stay healthy? (3) Describe how the left and right side of the brain are different? What part of the brain connects the two sides? (4) What are the nerve cells in the brain called? (5) Write a fact of your choice.

The Neuron Dendrites bring information into the cell body. Dendrites Nucleus The synapse is the area between neurons where the messages travel. Cell Body Axon terminals Slide 4 Neuron: Diagram and Label a Neuron, Write 3 facts about neurons. Myelin Sheath Axon Axons conducted send messages away from the cell body to other cells.

The Brain is Boss My brain controls my body. It tells my body what to do. Slide 5: Choice My brain has different parts, and they do different things.
