for using data/mapping/filling data needs areas of REGIONAL INTEREST in terms of BLUE GROWTH policy for using data/mapping/filling data needs Maritime Spatial Planning and Integrated Coastal Management Erosion and climate change in coastal areas Fisheries and Aquaculture: position, type, size and function of the cages, anchorages Maritime and Fishing Tourism: Cruises routes, species identification, catch, fishing way Oil Extraction Platforms: depth and method of extraction, anchorages Shipwrecks: identification, hauling ability, ability to visit Submarine Tectonic Faults: extent of marine pollution Identification - Protection - of MPAS and endemic species (eg Posidonia oceanica) OTHER areas of REGIONAL INTEREST in terms of TERRITORIAL SERVICES FOR THE CITIZENS

data/mapping/filling data needs - Regional level

Towards an EU Strategy for Coastal Mapping February 7 2017, Brussels data/mapping/filling data needs - european level Towards an EU Strategy for Coastal Mapping February 7 2017, Brussels Although there are regional sea basin strategies, a European strategy should try to combine everything, through a win-win situation for all stakeholders and users involved.

REGION OF crete is interested for: Close co-operation with Hellenic Centre of Marine Research and other research bodies Participation in consortiums producing data through research by including Crete as a case study, and thus having access to the data Development of its Regional Geographical Information System (GIS) by including data collected so far, and new ones gained from new studies Holistic approach of maritime spatial planning, a crucial issue in terms of BlueBridge objectives As for the EU contribution, we do stress our efforts to Encourage the exchange of data with research centers, public services • Guide the integration of data in cooperation with research centers, public services • Impose public access to data (open data to citizens, public authorities, researchers, companies) Be linked with european networks and lobbying for eu policies within a regional/national implementation
