“God in the Midst” Psalm 46

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.  God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.  Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth.   

He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
 He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.   “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”   

The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

“The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice.” Psalm 97:1

“but when you hid your face, I was dismayed “but when you hid your face, I was dismayed.  To you, Lord, I called;
to the Lord I cried for mercy: “What is gained if I am silenced,
if I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise you?
 Will it proclaim your faithfulness? Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me; Lord, be my help.” Psalm 30:7b-10

You turned my wailing into dancing;
you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.
  Lord my God, I will praise you forever Psalm 30:11-12

“The city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells “The city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.  God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.” Verses 5-6

“Be still and know that I am God!”

Then the wind died down and it was completely calm Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.  He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” Mark 4:38-41
