English 8 - ASB - JMUN Room 501

Introduction Sixth year @ Lewis, ninth overall English 8, ASB, JMUN, tutoring... I love English and teaching writing - I am a consultant for the San Diego Area Writing Project New dad Introduction

•In these courses, students will continue to grow as readers, writers, and speakers of the English language. They will analyze, evaluate, interpret, and compose various types of texts including, but not limited to, narratives, persuasive texts, primary documents, and functional and public documents. An exploration of the aforementioned texts will lead to a broader knowledge and greater respect for the English language. I teach students how to think - don't be concerned with a grade, but rather the learning English is a skills-based course, not content-based 8th Grade English

Texts I Use Not the textbook Handouts / PDFs / digital reading Units of study I've designed to spiral - give multiple opportunities with content Texts I Use

Will you show me?” 3.Contacting me is welcome 4.Check the class calendar online and the newsletters that will be sent home for information about important events, test, assignments, et cetera. •Homework due dates will vary. It is the student’s responsibility to monitor self-progress.

Why should students read at home?
