RYAN LANDRY & ZACH HUGHES Edwin Schrodinger RYAN LANDRY & ZACH HUGHES
Early Life Born in 1887 Homeschooled Later attended the University of Vienna to get his PhD in physics Was inspired by Friedrich Hasenhor Both went into WWI, Hasenhor died and was unable to accept his Nobel Peace Prize
Later on Down the Road Bounces around a bit, and finally goes home and gets married Offered a job in Switzerland at the University of Zurich Most productive during his 6 years here Interest sparked by Albert Einstein Most Famous for: Wave Mechanics
Quantum Mechanics Very confusing topic Einstein’s laws of motion do not work correctly in the subatomic universe Separate laws were created for the small, one of which was Schrodinger’s equation
Schrodinger’s Equation The most basic form: Can be used for many things, like determining potential and kinetic energy of systems, but it was originally created to determine the movement of electrons
Diffraction In a similar way to light diffracts when you look into water, electrons diffract in light wave patterns. Schrodinger created his equation to explain the pattern at which the electrons move
Schrodinger’s Cat
