My Role Develop Offerings of User Group Drive Group forward Services Interest Groups Activity Added Value Conference Drive Group forward Business Plan OK, so why have I been employed by the user group. Well, one of the main misconceptions I have come across since joining the user group- is that we are a part of SAP. In fact, a number of people I have spoken to actually thought I worked for SAP. This is a perception we aim to change. To achieve this we are building our own separate identity, whilst maintaining and hopefully strengthening our relationship with SAP. We now have a new office location, the details of which are shown at the bottom right of every slide. These are now the main contact details for the user group. Our branding will now appear on all of our communications as we now have stationary produced for the first time, which includes letterheads, compliments slips, and invoices. I have also brought along some brochures I have had designed, which include information regarding the user group. As you will have noticed from my email address and that of support shown on each slide, we have a new domain name, which we are using for all email communication and are also utilising for our new website. I will come to that a little later As we move forward, we realise we need to add value to our offerings for our members. I will be looking to create this added value in new products and services for our members, enhancing our identity and hopefully attracting new members into the group. A business plan was developed by the user group executive and I have been charged with both improving it and delivering against it. The plan is focused on improving the user group with regards to its communication, identity, offerings and effectiveness.

User Group Plans What’s New Future Plans Website ASUG Affiliation Geographic Groups Ireland Group Scotland Group Future Plans Improve Reach into SAP Community Business One Partners More Benefits to Members Website Development User Group Conference November 2006 I would now like to share with you our high level plans for the user group and what the future holds for us and, more importantly, you the members. The first main improvement I am working on is a new website. I feel the current site is ‘hidden’ within the depths of the SAP website, which I guess adds to the misconception of us being a part of SAP. We are creating a stand alone website, using our own domain, which will hopefully be the centrepiece for all user group communication and interactivity. Although only one of many communication channels, our aim is to make this our MAIN flow of communication and launched the site to primary contacts in May of this year. We will also be producing a regular electronic newsletter, keeping you informed of what is happening with the user group and other related areas. We will be increasing the number of promotional activities that we are involved in, thus improving our identity. We will be talking more to the press, and will become more visible in the SAP marketplace I feel we have had a low profile for too long I intend to increase our reach into the whole SAP community, managing and improving our relationships with SAP, their Partners, VAR’s, and other 3rd parties. We will be looking at sponsorship opportunities for 3rd parties, which will bring in extra revenue for the User Group allowing us to increase our products and services I also intend to target other non affiliated user groups in the market to see if we can fulfil their requirements. I understand that there are a number of them out there and feel that they will benefit from having access to our resources and we will benefit from the growth in numbers, thus strengthening our position. This will increase our effectiveness through membership growth, after all everything is relative. The larger we are, the louder our voice will be Through my visits to the various SIG meetings I hope to be able to build a picture of what products and services would best serve the user group and its members. I will be aiming to build new and strengthen existing relationships with other parties, allowing us to offer preferential rates and discounts for SAP related products and services to our members. What is important to me, is knowing what services YOU require.
