Swedish Public Employment Service The mission for the Swedish Public Employment Service The Swedish Parliament and Government outline our mission, deciding what services and functions we provide. Our mission is: To bring together employers and jobseekers. To provide extra help and support to those who have difficulty finding a job. To contribute to long term employment growth. Our mission is basically to contribute to a well-functioning labour market.

Job growth and skills development Arbetsförmedlingen is the largest employment agency in Sweden. We match employers and jobseekers. Easy access to our services: local employment offices, our national customer service center and our website. We are developing new channels to interface with our clients: social media, web and video links. Arbetsförmedlingen is the largest employment agency in Sweden. We match those who need employees with those who are seeking work. It should be easy to access our services: local employment offices, our customer service, arbetsformedlingen.se. We are developing more ways of contact: social media, web or video connection.

Organisation and employees 280 local employment offices are clustered into eleven market areas 14 000 employees on average in 2014 67 percent are women The average age is 45 years Many professions are represented. 12 000 of our employees have direct contact with our clients Some examples of the professions that can be found at Arbetsförmedlingen – apart from the 10 000 employment officers – are employment office manager, psychologist, system developer, maintenance technician, human resources specialist, information officer, economist, statistician, researcher, lawyer, occupational therapist and physiotherapist.

Our mission, cont. We also: Work with other stakeholders to ensure that jobseekers obtain work quickly and efficiently. Take responsibility for disability issues within labour market policy. Help recently arrived immigrants enter the labour market. Ensure that unemployment insurance regulations are followed by jobseekers receiving these benefits.

Finances in 2015 Appropriations and other available resources: 77 billion SEK, of which 13 billion for wage subsidies and other measures for individuals with a functional disability 30 billion for unemployment benefit and activity support 7 billion for wages, premises and operating costs Over 9 billion for purchase of labour market programmes and measures 4 billion for the introduction programme Arbetsförmedlingen is funded by appropriations from parliament and the government.
