Outfield Triangle Drill and Infield “3 Ball” Drill Station Leads: Be organized / have a plan Less talk, more play Simultaneous activity—minimize standing around time for players Keep them running and strive for 3-5 “touches” a minute Stick to the timeline (as best we can) Vipers: 1830: Team huddle “3 Ball” Drill: 3 Balls are placed stationary in front of the mound On “Go” the player moves forward and makes three throws to 1st base. Multiple Hitting Stations “Hitting Drill”: We can’t hit directly into the fences as directed by the league When possible use the cage with the coach conducting BP and have the other stations hit into the side of the cage The T, ST and Whiffle ball stations should orient towards the outfield fence from a distance that won’t hurt the meshing Place throw down home plates for ST and Whiffle Ball Collect balls at outfield fence and rotate stations Slow paced; focus on form and not speed (or reps) Feet apart and high hands No “squish the bug” or “get your elbow up” Bunt the first two during live pitch Vipers: 1830: Team huddle Soft Toss Coach Coach Whiffle Ball Coach Coach Screen T Work = Balls = Cones = Buckets Manger: Curtis Hubbard
