1-21-16 Objectives: To examine and evaluate Thoreau’s argument in “Civil Disobedience” To identify Thoreau’s main ideas To recognize correct parallel structure in sentences

Essential Questions: Do you think Thoreau was right or wrong with the choices he made in “Civil Disobedience”? What does Thoreau conclude about government in “Civil Disobedience”? Why is it important to have correct parallelism when writing?
