Short Story Project - Honors Choose an author of short stories. Do not use fairytales or Edgar Allan Poe. If you are unsure of your choice, have it approved. Read 3 short stories by that author. Write a critical analysis focusing on Author’s background and how it may be reflected in the stories. Type / Types of stories: Ex:. Horror, Folklore, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery, Historical Fiction, etc. Author’s plot similarities: Ex: Characters (protagonist, antagonist), conflict, climax, resolution, point of view, and setting. Three literary terms and techniques commonly used in each. Give examples from story. Ex: allusion, foil, foreshadowing, irony, situational irony, dramatic irony, symbolism, similes, metaphor, onomatopoeia, personification, alliteration, assonance, and imagery. Reader’s Response Create a PowerPoint to share your findings with the class. If you don’t have internet access, please see me. Use MLA format and do not place your essay in a folder.
