Speaking Situation An old man is carrying a very heavy suitcase Somebody is late for a flight and wants to go ahead of the queue An old and sick person is on a crowded bus and wants to sit down How could you ask for help? How could you offer help? Work with your partner and act out the situations. Use the phrases in the box.

Talking I Here are two situations. For each situation, prepare a role play with your partner and use both spoken words and body language to express your ideas. You fall and hurt your foot while you are hiking on a lonely path. You need help, and see someone in the distance. You: Help!Help! Please come here! Person: What do you want? I can’t hear you! 2. You are visiting a strange city and need to buy some tea and oranges. You only know a little English and need to know where you can get them and how much they cost. You: Can you please help me?
