The minimum size for slide decks that will be read should be 10 English Curriculum K-12 The new English curriculum has been designed to align with Performance Standards listed in the Ministry of Education English as an International Language (2014) Framework. Each lesson embeds Student Learning Outcomes from the EIL Framework. The curriculum is aligned to the Common European Framework (CEFR). These international benchmarks and competencies are a core component of the new English Curriculum. There is strong focus on 21st Century Skills as lesson activities promote skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, learning and innovation, communication and collaboration, life and career skills. The curriculum aims to equip the students with the necessary skills they need to become successful English language users.

The minimum size for slide decks that will be read should be 10 KG New curriculum for KG 1 and KG 2 KG1 The focus will be on developing the Arabic language in order to prepare the children for English language learning in KG2 KG 2 This will follow a bilingual model English will be taught through speaking, listening and phonics The emphasis will be on developing the oral skills before focussing on reading and writing in Grade 1

Grade 1, 10, 11 and 12 – New Writes Grade 12 was developed in-house in collaboration with Cambridge and informed by students’ needs and interests. Grade 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 – Adaptations of the original Cambridge University Press Global English series

Grades 3, 6 and 9 are ‘Light Adaptations’ – the full adaptation will be ready for Academic Year 2017 / 2018 Grades 1, 4 and 7 were piloted in the field this year. The content in these grades will be different for Academic Year 2016 / 2017. Due to the restructuring of the books, there will be repetition of activities in Grade 2, Units 1-4 and Grade 5, Unit 1. Cycle 3 Streaming As we move into Cycle 3, the curriculum is benchmarked against International English Language Testing System (IELTS) as we all as the CEFR.   Grade 11 and 12 Advanced will follow the Bridge to Success Curriculum with no changes. Grade 10 Advanced will receive additional ‘stretch’ materials. Grade 10 General will follow the Access Term with no additional ’stretch’ materials. Grade 11 and 12 General will follow a reduced content structure. Advanced Stream – IELTS 6.5 General Stream – IELTS 5.5
