The SOSCA System Curriculum Based Assessments: Maths, Science, Reading at end S2 Standardised Scores Predictions and Chances Graphs 5-14 equivalents and Scottish Qualifications Value Added Measures P7 – SOSCA MidYIS S1 – SOSCA SOSCA – Standard Grade (at present) Standard Grade outcomes will eventually become National 4 & 5 qualifications 5-14 equivalents can become CfE levels Early, first through fourth 3. Timimg of SOSCA may need to be addressed. Discussion re maybe yearly S1 to S3 but would need mechanism to see which topics schools had covered.

The Assessments Curriculum-based assessments covering: Maths - Number, Money & Measure - Information Handling - Space, Position & Movement Science - Planet Earth - Forces, Electricity & Waves - Biological Systems - Materials - Attitudes to Science Reading - Speed Reading - Text Comprehension - Passage Comprehension CfE: Maths will additionally include Numeracy Science will become: Planet Earth, Forces. Electricity & Waves, Biological Systems, Materials, Topical Science (no planned coverage) Knowledge and Understanding is the focus in order to get good curriculum coverage using a large number of short questions – achieve good reliability in short time – any test can only sample the curriculum
