Setting Goals ASA College Planning Center

When do you want to transfer? Set your own goals Whether you’re just starting college or almost done with your Associate’s degree, you always need to have a goal in mind. When do you want to transfer? And what do you need to accomplish to get there? Short term goals: goals that will be accomplished within a week or two. For example: Complete term paper; study chapter 5; attend 2 study group sessions. You can have many short term goals in a designated time period. Short term goals should be attainable. Long term goals: Goals that require more time and effort to be achieved, usually within 6-12 months or longer. Long-term goals require that you achieve short term goals first. For example: Finish semester with a 3.0 GPA (short-term goal needed to accomplish this could be to attend a study group); finish my bachelors degree (short-term goal needed to accomplish this could be to study each week so that I can make sure I pass all my classes).
