Why is Nautel doing getting into TV? It’s true – most of the TV transmitter manufacturers are a mess. Acrodyne is gone, Axcera just reorganized, and Harris, Thomson and others are shells of their former selves. These companies all grew when the digital transition was beginning in North America and Europe, and since sales have dropped, are unable to support the infrastructure they built. To Nautel, TV is all upside, since we never HAD TV, we are expanding our offerings as the remaining 2/3rds of the world converts to digital. Most importantly, it is our customers who have been coming to us, asking for the same creativity, quality and support they’ve grown to love with our radio products.

What is the NT Series? Nautel is introducing two models at NAB 2013: NT150 is a 2-150W digital UHF transmitter, with both linear and non-linear adaptive correction, Nautel’s award winning AUI, and a broad range of inputs including ASI, SMPTE310M, TSoIP Gigabit Ethernet, and an optional off-air receiver. It also provides an integral mask filter. NT500 is a 2-500W transmitter, with all of the above, plus inbuilt spectrum analyzer, and OptiPower Enhanced Adaptive Precorrection. The mask filter is not included.

What is the NT100? Additional relationships for full solutions partnering with companies making encoders and multiplexers, as well as TV filters, combiners and antennas.

What is the NT Series? The Nautel NT150 and NT500 share a solid foundation: LDMOS amplifiers – for optimum performance and efficiency. High efficiency SMPS provides clean regulated power with an input voltage range of 180-264VAC 50/60Hz. Integrated software definable modulator, upgradeable in the field as DTV standards evolve. What can you expect next? We plan to add to the line with higher power models The worldwide market for TV transmitters is estimated at $165 million a year. But regardless of how exciting this new market is, we will never, never, never abandon our leadership in the radio transmitter business.
