How to annotate your Audacity project
Objectives Show where you have used at least 2 recording effects Fade in/out Auto Duck Bass boost or other tone controls Pitch shift Normalise Noise reduction Show what editing you have done Trim Copy / cut / paste
The next slides will show you how to use the annotation features of audacity Open the final clip
1. Click on the Tracks menu and add a new Label track 2. Go to the new track. Click the Track menu. If necessary, use the Move Track Up option to move the label track below the track you wish to annotate.
3. Highlight the section of the label track that lines up with the part of the clip to which you edited or applied and effect. Click the track menu Click Add label at selection Type in your comment If you need to add another comment to this label track, simply highlight where you want the label to go and repeat these steps 5. Repeat this process with each track to which you have either edited or applied an effect
6. Now shrink the tracks to fit into the window. Click on the View menu and select Fit Vertically Click on the View menu again and select Fit in Window You should now see all of your tracks and annotations. NOTE. Not every track will be displayed if you have a lot of tracks – you will need to scroll down to see the lower tracks. This means you may need to do 2 screenshots – one for the top half, then scroll down to screenshot the bottom half.
Screenshot the entire Audacity project It should look something like this. Take a screenshot (Prt sc key) Paste the screenshot (or screenshots) into a word document and upload the document with your finished clip
