How can studying a world language in high school help your student if s/he goes to college? Earn College Credit MOST COLLEGES have a world language entrance requirement. Usually 2 years of high school A student could receive about 8-16 credits if s/he studied a world language for 4 years at high school level. and a graduation requirement for world language Usually 4 years of high school or 2 years at university level Save $3,000 - $20,000 in tuition

HOW CAN A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT EARN COLLEGE CREDIT WHILE ATTENDING High school?
What is a dual credit course? - one that awards high school graduation credit as well as college credit for the same course.
How much credit can be earned? Spanish IV (Dual Credit) students can earn 4 college credits per semester Total of 8 credits by earning at least a C in Spanish IV
The only cost to the student is the cost of a textbook. What does this cost? The only cost to the student is the cost of a textbook. •MCC costs $80 per credit hour. •Northern and other 4 year colleges cost $200 + per credit. Saving $640 - $1600 and up.
What is the curriculum? • Sophomore college level Spanish that is comparable to the High School Spanish IV curriculum Students who have successfully completed Levels I-III of high school Spanish should be successful in this dual credit course.
How can you participate? 1- Pass the MCC Spanish placement test. The placement test is designed to ensure that a student who takes this course has the background to be successful.
When is the placement test? Taken during class usual in April The placement test is FREE.
