About Smart Classroom DO NOT TRY TO FIX PC! Just let Professor Choi Know! You will never be penalized because of any technical problem. Always check the Internet connection of your PC Bring a flash (stick) memory to save your work Very good idea if you are not familiar with HW & SW

Smart Classroom Security Policy CSUB ITS established an official security policy. Students are not allowed to stay in the MIS Lab without a faculty member present. Students will not be allowed to loan the MIS lab proxy card under no circumstances. There are no exceptions to this rule. Contact the Dean’s office if you have questions or suggestions about this policy

Submission You must submit everthing (i.e., assignment, project, & midterm exam) through our course Blackboard submission link. Otherwise, it will not be accepted. If you’d like to avoid any type of possible technical problem, please submit using a PC in the school computer lab (library). Try to submit earlier.

Submission When you submit an assignment (or exam), you MUST CLOSE the Microsoft office application (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access) COMPLETELY before you submit your file (i.e., assignment, project, exam) Otherwise, you will receive ZERO POINT

Submission Because ONLY title of you file will be processed and accepted without including actual contents of your file (i.e., assignment, project, exam). And if you need to submit several files, you must submit all files together at once. That is, you must "UPLOAD" all the files together at once.

Course Guideline Class Attendance Is required and more than two absences will significantly negatively impact your final grade. Notify me your absence by email 24 hours before. If you miss a class because of a documentable illness or other reasonable cause, I will provide help. Otherwise, no help will be provided. The attendance will be checked. 15

Course Guideline Email Policy Every CSUB student has a CSUB issued email address (just like mine!) ONLY official email for our course is CSUB Email. If you email me using your private email, I will not reply. 16

Course Guideline Class Announcement All the class announcement will be posted thru the class announcement page on the class website and sent by email. i.e., change or cancellation of office hours Make sure to check the class announcement page and email periodically 17

Course Guideline No interference Surfing the Internet without permission Typing (email, paper…) and cell phone texting Talking to classmates during the lectures - If you have any question, let your instructor know directly. Do not discuss your questions with your neighbors Bottom line…do not distract others Up to 30 % of your total score can be deducted depending on the level of interference.

Course Guideline Late Policy All Students must be on time to the class. If you late more than 20 minutes without any notification (at least 24hours), then it will be considered as “ABSENCE.” If you violet this policy, minimum 10% penalty (based on total score) will be applied.

Course Guideline CSUB policy “Faculty have a fundamental responsibility to maintain the integrity of the learning environment. When confronted by unreasonable disruption in the classroom, faculty are expected to initiate actions to correct such conditions. Such actions may result in disciplinary action ranging from removal from the classroom to formal disciplinary sanctions, including probation, suspension, or expulsion.”

Course Guideline Peer Group Evaluation is a part of the grading scheme. Your evaluation is 100% confidential. To prevent free riding in the group, the contribution of each member will be assessed. Each member is expected to submit a peer group evaluation at the end of the quarter. No one will be allowed to see your evaluation. Please remember that your final grade can be up or down graded based on the evaluation result.

Course Guideline Microsoft Office is the ONLY official software for our university. Thus, no other SW tools will be allowed. Any work submitted not using Microsoft Office will not be accepted. You can download MS Office from CSUB Office 365.

Course Guideline Late work will be not be accepted Failure to submit an assignment by the deadline will result in a grade of 0. A written excuses from the appropriate person such as a medical doctor is the only acceptable form of excuse.

Course Guideline Office hours Please DO NOT try to use office hours to make up for a missed class (I do not repeat lectures). You must be able to demonstrate you have already put a reasonable effort into solving and/or analyzing the problems. Honor code Classroom conduct Everyone is equal.
