Luke 4:18-19 (NKJV)

Hebrews 2:14-15 (NKJV) 14  Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15  and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Matthew 9:35-36 (NKJV) 35  Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36  But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

Matthew 9:36 (AMP) 36  When He saw the throngs, He was moved with pity and sympathy for them, because they were bewildered (harassed and distressed and dejected and helpless), like sheep without a shepherd.

(NIV) when we were still powerless. Romans 5:6 (NKJV) “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.” (NIV) when we were still powerless. (NASB) For while we were still helpless. (NLT) When we were utterly helpless.

Romans 5:6-8 (NKJV) Romans 6:3-14 (NKJV)

Jesus provided us freedom from sin’s dominion. Dominion: the Lordship or rulership of sin.

Colossians 1:13-14 (NKJV) 13  He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14  in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

‘where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty’. 2 Corinthians 3:17 ‘where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty’.

1. Freedom from legalism. 2. Freedom from the bondage of past mindsets. 3. Freedom from the bondage of peer pressure.

John 12:42-43 NKJV 42 Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

John 12:42-43 MSG When push came to shove they cared more for human approval than for God's glory.

1. Freedom from legalism. 2. Freedom from the bondage of past mindsets. 3. Freedom from the bondage of peer pressure. 4. Freedom to be who God made you to be.

Galatians 5:1 (NKJV) 1  Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

(RSV): “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.”

(Darby's): “Christ has set us free in freedom; stand fast therefore, and be not held again in a yoke of bondage.”

(Living): ”So Christ has made us free (Living): ”So Christ has made us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don't get all tied up again in the chains of slavery to Jewish laws and ceremonies.”

(NIV): “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free (NIV): “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

(Young's Literal Translation): “In the freedom, then, with which Christ did make you free--stand ye, and be not held fast again by a yoke of servitude”

Amplified: “in [this] freedom Christ has made us free – completely liberated us; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery – which you have once put off.”
