Quilting Fabric Arts II

Walking Foot Video: Instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c76bGia5Rds Instructions: http://justquilty.com/2012/04/how-to-attach-a-walking-foot/

Stitching in the Ditch Before you stitch in the ditch, make sure your bobbin is winded with quilting thread and you are using quilting thread for top stitching! Sew your vertical seams first then your horizontal seams when you stitch in the ditch. Stitching in the ditch secures all three layers of your quilt and makes the squares pop out! Remember: Feed dogs are up when using walking foot

Darning/Free Motion Foot REMEMBER: feed dogs go down when using darning foot

Machine Quilting When you are finished stitching in the ditch with your walking foot, you will then be stitching designs on your quilt. Be creative! Draw out your machine quilting plan and practice on your practice piece before you stitch on your quilt. Remember to use the walking foot and darning foot!

Design Examples

Stitching If your bobbin thread is too loose you need to increase your tension number. You should always end and stop at 4. Too tight Just right Too loose
