Overview of Measures November 8, 2016 Election City Manager’s Office November 8, 2016 Election 17 state ballot measures County state measure Proposition M: Los Angeles County Traffic Improvement Plan (formally referred to as Measure R2) Proposition A: Safe, Clean Neighborhood Parks & Beaches Measure of 2016 Legislative Policy Committee reviewed on August 16th and supported the following staff recommendations
Recommended Positions State Propositions: Support Prop 51 – Authorizes issuance and sale of $9.0 billion in bonds for education and schools PUSD had adopted resolution to support this Recommend support Prop 54 – Calif Legislature Transparency Act of 2016. Prohibits the legislature from passing any bill until it has been in print and published on the Internet for 72 hours prior to the vote
Recommended Positions State Propositions: Support Prop 56 – Cigarette Tax to Fund Healthcare, Tobacco Use Prevention, Research, and Law Enforcement Recommend support Prop 67 – This Veto Referendum ratifies SB 270, thus prohibiting plastic single-use carryout bags. A “yes” vote is a vote in favor of upholding or ratifying the contested legislation banning plastic bags. Recommend support. This is consistent with our platform.
