Heart Related Problem. The Heart is the center of the Cardiovascular System. Through the body's Blood Vessels, the heart pumps blood to all the body cells.
Purpose of Circulatory System
By: Ryan Hall & Alex Hernandez.  The heart, blood, and blood vessels (capillaries, veins, and arteries) make up the Circulatory System.
Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) CVD affects the heart (cardio) and blood vessels (vascular).
The Cardiovascular System. A. Functions: 1. Carries oxygen and nutrients to the body cell. 2. Carries carbon dioxide and other wastes to the lungs and.

Higher Human Biology.  CVD is responsible for a huge proportion of deaths annually.
 Cardio- means heart  Vascular- means blood vessels  Aka Circulatory System because its job is to circulate blood throughout the body.  Blood carries.

What is Heart Disease? Heart disease is any disorder that affects the heart’s ability to function normally. The most common cause of heart disease is narrowing.

B – The Cardiovascular System The structure and function of arteries, capillaries and veins The structure and function of the heart Pathology of cardio vascular disease (CVD) Blood glucose levels and obesity

KA 7: Pathology of cardio vascular disease (CVD) Subtopics: Atherosclerosis Thrombosis Peripheral vascular disorders Cholesterol levels and FH This used to be in a spider diagram format!

KA 7c: Learning Outcomes State what is meant by peripheral vascular disease State where in the body it can commonly occur and the conditions that can occur as a result.

Peripheral Vascular Disease PVD is narrowing of the arteries due to atherosclerosis of arteries other than those of the heart or brain. The arteries to the legs are most commonly affected. Pain is experienced in the leg muscles due to a limited supply of oxygen. A DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a blood clot that forms in a deep vein most commonly in the leg, and can break off and result in a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs).
