Sustrans is the charity that’s enabling people to travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make every day. Our work makes it possible for people to choose healthier, cleaner and cheaper journeys, with better places and spaces to move through and live in. .

Smarter Journeys to Work 3 year project covering Cardiff, Caerphilly and Pontypridd Support and assist organisations in encouraging and promoting sustainable transport This is achieved by developing a Travel Plan

Reduced staff absence Modal Shift Financial savings Time Savings What has been achieved? Cardiff Metropolitan University- 32% reduction in the number of days lost to staff sickness absence since 2008. Velindre NHS Trust: reduced the number of staff single occupancy car trips to their site by 12% from 2008-2011. Zurich: video conferencing at its four sites resulted in £122,000 worth of fuel cost savings KPMG in 2010: 430 extra ‘work hours’ that would be spent travelling were created Reduced staff absence Modal Shift Financial savings Time Savings

Who are we working with? Lloyds TSB – helped set up a pool bike scheme UHW – supported a number of events HMRC – developed a Travel Plan from scratch and won a Sewta Travel Plan Award University of South Wales – developing an Active Travel Map Caerphilly Business Park – developing a Travel Plan
