Our Region is called Yorkshire

The Flag of Yorkshire ‘The Yorkshire Rose’

Monk Fryston and Hillam Our school takes children from Monk Fryston and Hillam. These are two small villages

Monk Fryston has a population of 900 Monk Fryston has a population of 900. This is our Post Office and only shop!

Hillam has 700 people. This is the Ring Tree in Hillam Square

Our local church is St Wilfrid’s

Many of the houses are very old.

There are some new houses too.

We are surrounded by farms and fields.

There are two pubs.

And one hotel!

Selby is 6km away. It is our nearest town.

13,000 people live in Selby.

Selby Abbey.

The famous tourist city of York is 20kms away.

York is very historic.

And good for shopping!

Leeds is 20kms away. It is the third largest city in England.

Leeds has a population of 761,100.

Yorkshire has a varied and beautiful landscape
