PROJECT DESCRIPTION The two projects was initiated by Stephen Alexander Makere a boldleader who attended Youth leadership Project With Sub Saharan Africa in Denver and Washington D.C from March, 24 to April, 2011.

REASONS FOR ESTABLISHING THE PROJECTS Raising money to help students from poor family to have equal access to education Educate students on social entrepreneurship skills Train students on self reliant project and reduce dependent on parents and relatives Create awareness to students and local community on how project can help in education and sustain their well being and live hood. To reduce poverty among people through contributing in education..

PROJECT MEMBERS Currently 15 active students and two teachers are registered for our project, though we started with 20 students of which other 5 students withdraw from our project for their own will. The remained students 10 are involved in poultry project and other five in stationery project.

STUDENTS AND TEACHERS WHO WORKS IN OUR PROJECTS

THE SERVICES WE PROVIDE FROM OUR PROJECT ARE Selling chickens, selling eggs, photocopy services, designing identity cards, business cards and wedding cards, writing different subject pamphlets, scanning, binding books, selling soft drinks e.t.c.

PICTURES OF SERVICES WE OFFER FROM OUR PROJECT

THE INVOLVMENT OF STUDENTS IN OUR PROJECT Students are trained how to manage the project. Eg. Two student were trained on how to use computer. After class hours and during weekdays students members participate in various activities in our project. Students are directly involved in selling product from our projects. 50% 0f the profit earned from the selling of our product directly go to a student. We manage this by calculating 50% of profit earned, then we take half of it for students. We are waiting till December,2013 to calculate the whole profit and loss in our projects

POSITIVE INDICATORS IN OUR PROJECT. We managed to pay full school fee of one year for 5 students @ 20,000/= These are students who were actively involved in our project. Where we spent T. sh. 100,000/= We also paid food contribution for two students for the whole year @ 70,000/= 350,000/= Total we spent T. sh. 450,000/= for all students. FIVE students established a poultry project at their home, they used money collected from the product sold to buy some chickens. More students are applying to join with our project.

PROBLEMS AND CHALLENGES FACING OUR PROJECT High price for chicken food Chicken diseases, and high price for medicine to cure them. We lack incubator for hatching eggs. Many students like the project, but they don’t want to work. Small place of keeping poultry

EXPECTED PROJECT OUTCOMES To increase number of beneficiaries in our project Expand market for project products and promote it Ask more grants to expand the project to involve many students

SOME PICTURES OF OUR PROJECTS

OTHER ACTIVITIES/PROJECTS WE MANAGED TO ESTABLISH In collaboration with Peace corps volunteer from America, we managed to establish a library room in our school. The project was financed by friends from America We also established a life skill club where students and teachers meet on Thursday after class hour to discuss various issues
