Great Marsden St John's 'Pick and Mix' Homework Hedgehogs- Autumn Term 1 – Do You Want To Be Friends? This 'Pick and Mix' homework is for the whole half term. Red Boxes need to be completed regularly each week. Yellow Boxes must be done at some point during the half term. Challenge yourself to the green box activities. These do not have to be done, but if you want to push yourself, that would be super! Reading Look at your home reader 3 times a week. Look at the pictures and talk about what happens in the story. Draw a picture of your family. Try to colour it in the correct colours. Return by 23.9.16 The Empty Box! You can do anything you like; a presentation on something that interests you; write about something you have done - the choice is yours... Go for a listening walk to the park or on your walk to school. Ask an adult to write down anything that you hear. Return by 30.9.16 Look around for numbers when you are at home or the shops. Try to tell someone the numbers that you see. Develop your running and jumping skills that we have been using in PE. A Family Learning Activity Decide and play your favourite game together. Take a photograph or draw a picture to show the class. Remember to take turns! Pencil Control Use your pencil to follow the lines and shapes on the sheets sent home weekly. Talk about... Your friends and family and what you like to do with them. Practise singing your favourite nursery rhyme. Perform it to your family and the rest of the class in music time. Find out about hedgehogs. Can you tell me what they eat? Can you find out where they live? Go for a number hunt around your house. What numbers can you see? Try to copy them into your book. Return by 7.10.16 Investigate things around your home. Decide what they are and what they are used for. E.G iron  irons clothes, kettle  boils water mobile  makes texts and calls. Create a thank you card or poster for someone who has helped you. It could be a family member, police officer, doctor or nurse. Return by 14.10.16 Number Facts practise counting up to 10 objects. Please tick and initial the activities your child has completed.
