Topic: Colour Term: Personal, social and emotional: Physical: Communication and Language: How do colours make you feel- angry? Sad? Happy? Discuss favourite colour and why? Camouflage- talk about animals changing colour- how and why? We are all different- colours of skin, eyes, hair, clothes Discuss favourite colour and why? Sing rainbow song Variety of fiction books based on colour- Rainbow fish, Elmer, Mrs Rainbow. Go on a colour walk around the school. Coloured water in water tray Colour collages using tissue paper- e.g. different animals and patterns Colour printing on large sheet Threading colour patterns Topic: Colour Term: Literacy: Mathematics: Understanding the World: Expressive arts and design: Repeated patterns using variables- shape and colour Tessellations- colour and shape Grouping and sorting- colour counting bears and sizes.
