About us: BALKANIA is an association for Balkan Alternative Tourism whose activities include realization of projects from the domain of tourism and sport in order to promote the entire Balkan region as a tourist destination. In addition, its purpose is to restore the positive image of the Balkans in the public eye and promote its exceptional – natural, historical, cultural and anthropological heritage. The name of the association, BALKANIA, sounds like a name of a new imaginary land on the territories represented by the hospitality of their population. In fact, one of the objectives of the project as a whole is to create a virtual geographic region that includes the territories and regions which are today identified with the term BALKANS. The efforts of the association are aimed at channelling our energy to all forms that are the alternative to mass tourism, and which are in terms of the development of macro sectors identified as: natural tourism, rural tourism, cultural tourism and sport tourism.

Urban environment and the contemporary life besides the benefits entails many drawbacks, many commitments, obligations and stressful conditions. The need to reduce and prevent such situations results in sport and active holidays: Return to a healthy environment, to feel peace, to revive memories and what nature has to offer and an active vacation: sports, socializing, entertainment, recreation, and enjoyment Alternative forms of tourism in our focus are : Cultural Tourism, Rural Tourism, Ecotourism, Agriturism, Sport Tourism and Active (adventure) tourism. Active tourism includes all these forms and is constantly progressing - and this trend will continue to grow ONE OF THE MAIN OBJECTIVES: FIGHT THE CURRENT THREAT OF INACTIVITY

Subject: Young people choose to eat fast food and play video games instead of outdoor activities and a healthy diet. There are more cases of problems with health and other things caused by this way of life. So we stress that healthy lifestyle is important, especially starting from the earliest age. Also, sport is a great opportunity to learn how to work as a team in order to achieve a common goal. FIGHT THE CURRENT WHITH SPORT THREAT INACTIVITY

We can see the negative impact of this way of live
