Transport to Carlton Lodge… On Wednesday 23rd May, we shall leave school at 11am (approximately). Carlton Lodge is near Thirsk, which should take roughly an hour to get there.

Arrival… When we arrive at Carlton lodge, children will then be able to enjoy their packed lunch (no fizzy drinks).

Accommodation… This image is the ‘Sports Building’ where the children will be staying.

Welcome Talk… Once the children have finished lunch, the leaders will provide a welcome talk. Safety, activities, expectations and outcomes of the residential will be discussed.

Dining… On the first day, children will bring their own packed lunches. Other meal times (lunch at 12.30pm and dinner at 5.15pm), children will be provided with options: Wednesday night: Cheese pizza Pepperoni pizza Fish and chips Iced Chocolate Cake Thursday morning: Fruit Juice, cereals Egg, bacon, scrambled egg, baked beans and toast Thursday lunch: Sandwiches Thursday night: Roast pork dinner Jacket potato with cheese and beans Jelly and ice-cream Friday morning: Fruit Juice, cereals Egg, sausage, scrambled egg, baked beans and toast

Friday Lunch… Children will make their own packed lunch at Carlton Lodge. We shall depart around 1.15pm and arrive back at school for 2.15pm (approximately).

Bedrooms… Children will be expected to make their own beds on arrival. Bedroom inspections will be carried out throughout their stay.

Kayaking and raft building… Children will be split into three groups, where they shall participate in all activities on a rota. Prepared to be a little wet…

Activities… All activities are led by qualified instructors. Children are provided with specialist equipment.

The Lake… Get Ready! Run! JUMP!

Clothing… We advise children to wear swimming costumes/trunks underneath old clothing, with old trainers when completing water based activities. Shower facilities are available after outdoor activities.

High ropes… A confidence builder for those scared of heights. Children are safe. All high rope activities are led and instructed by qualified members of staff. Take the leap of faith…

Zip wire… A fantastic opportunity for children to learn and develop their teamwork.

Problem Solving/Bush-craft… TEAM WORK!

Children will finish their last activity at 8.30pm. Relaxation Time… Children will finish their last activity at 8.30pm. We will give them opportunity to relax an enjoy their evening with friends. Just need to remember… 8AM!

Reminders… Check the KIT LIST. No electronic devices (eg. mobiles, iPads) No extra sweets and treats to be packed. Basics (always forgettable) – toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, swim wear, water bottle, towels. Most importantly… TIME FOR YEAR 6 FUN!
