Pillars of Wind Development Strong wind regime Positive Landowner and Community Relationships Favourable Transmission Interconnection

Benefits to Developing Wind Energy Green Attributes of renewable energy are a tradable commodity that hold value – RECs The cost to install wind generation is currently the most economic of all green choices In response to climate change, the Government of Alberta has announced a target to retire all coal generation in Alberta by 2030, replacing ~2/3 of which with renewable generation

Challenges to Developing Wind Energy Green Energy (Wind) Cost Reliable

The Cost of Wind Generation

The Reliability of Wind Generation

Integration of Wind Energy and Smart Grids Innovation Changes in consumer behaviour Technology Advancements => Lower Cost Combined Storage and Wind At end of day grids can be green, however it currently comes at a cost in the form of dollars or reliability.
