ARTEMIS Brokerage Event Call 2010 Riga Technical University as a partner in ASP1, ASP5 projects Unique Selling Points Networks of embedded intelligent control devices allow adapting system to specific conditions and optimising control of rolling stock. According to the computer experiments in 2008 it is possible to save about 640 000 EUR in Riga and it is more than 10% of electric energy costs for rail transport. The intelligent hybrid braking energy storage system may increase energy efficiency by 25-40% for electric traction and fuel economy up to 30% for diesel traction. Using wireless communication in networks of embedded intelligent control devices provides additional safety level to railway system. Devices for safe braking allow preventing collisions of trains. Patent Nr. LV13978 dated 14.05.2009.
