Standard Grade Physical Education Adapting Activities

Adapting Activities playing area. Activities are adapted or changed slightly to help people learn an activity. Coaches or teachers can do different things to help people, especially the young, perform an activity. playing area. for example: the playing area can be made smaller (smaller hockey pitches for young players).

Adapting Activities Equipment. The type of equipment can be changed to suit the age of the performer (the ball can be smaller, the goals can be either bigger or smaller depending on the activity).

Adapting Activities Rules. The rules can be changed (no offside in football). No tackling above the waist in rugby. Score on every rally in badminton.

Adapting Activities Number of players. The number of players can be changed (Hockey instead of 11v11 it could be 7v7 or 5v5).

Adapting Activities Time The time for the game to be played could be shortened (2x20mins rather than 2x40 minutes)
