GUESS WHO???

Idi Amin *Born near Koboko, in the West Nile Province of what is now the Republic of Uganda. *Believed Uganda was for Ugandan’s and kicked all British and Asians (business men), causing the decline of Uganda’s economy *Was a Boxer prior to entering the army which caused people to fear him *Exiled many of the supporters of President Obote and had many others killed * Over threw Ugandan President, Milton Obote, and declared himself a dictator *Died in Jeddah Saudi Arabia in Exile of Multiple Organ Failure

Background Born near Koboko, in the West Nile Province of what is now the Republic of Uganda Amin joins KAR Has very little education because of his economy

What did he Do??? Was in charge of the Ugandan Army until he decided to over throw the current president (Obote) Kicks Asians and other non-Ugandans out of Uganda Killed anyone who opposed him

Influence Today Shows us what would happen if you kick many business men out Great Misjudgment Left Uganda in a deep hole and it took them a long time to recover Some still admire him

Mao Zedong *Caused what was known as the Red Terror (communist kill and torture thousands of local people *Born on December 26, 1893 at Shaoshan Xiangtan County, Hunan Province *Joined the army because of the famine in Hunan (was previously a school teacher) * In 1958 he gave up his presidency because he couldn’t control the famine *Loses ability to speak due to ALS on 1974 and dies in 1976 *Switched from believing in Nationalism to Communism after studying Marxism

Background Born on December 12, 1893 at Shaoshan, Xiangtan County, Hunan Province Farmer family began as peasants but later grew to be wealthy Was very well educated

What did he Do??? Established the Soviet Republic of China Led The Red Terror Bans any other party in China Both of his five year plans failed causing the death of millions

Influence Today Converted China into a Communist country Worsened the Famine in China after his time in rule Proved to be A terrible leader

Similarities Grew up in a violent home Both had other interest before joining the government army Loved by their people at first, and then greatly hated Made their countries suffer greatly economy wise Their failed plans were responsible for millions of deaths
