Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) Dublin City Council operates Dublin Fire Brigade as the full time Fire, Emergency Ambulance and Rescue Service for the four Dublin Local Authorities Population - 1,300,000 (Transient Population up to 1,000,000) Households - 478,000 DFB has been in operation since 1862 with the Emergency Ambulance operating since 1898

Dublin Fire Brigade Operations 12 full-time stations and 2 part-time providing fire cover 24 hours a day 365 days a year Operating over a four watch system in 6 Districts Resources on a daily basis include:- 36 Officers, 138 Firefighters including 24 staffing 12 Emergency Ambulances Incident types – Firefighting, Chemical incidents, Road Traffic Collisions, Emergency Medical Services, Special Services East Regional Communications Centre (processing 150,000 calls annually) Fire Prevention/Community Fire Safety Major Emergency Management

Emergency Medical Service Provide a fully integrated Fire based Ambulance and EMS service All Fire Appliances Paramedic Crews Defibrillator, Paramedic response Bag - Advanced Airway Management, Life saving Medications, Resuscitation equipment

Building Control Responsibility : Owners, designers and builders Fire Safety Certification Process Plans of the proposed building are submitted to the Fire Authority. These plans are examined for compliance with the Building Regulations Part “B” of the 2nd schedule, utilising TGD”B” or other relevant code. more emphasis is being placed on the management of the fire safety in the building over it’s lifetime. Enforcement Process Complaints : Deficiencies Public Operational Fire crews Routine Inspections Receivers Deficiencies Letter is then sent to management company requiring Fire Safety Audit under section 18(6) FSA We then meet with management company and discuss results of Fire Safety Audit, agree any work required as outlined in the report and a timeline for completion of the work Information on completed works will be submitted to the Fire Authority and certification that the work is in compliance with the relevant codes of practice Or Fire Safety Notice may be served through the court system and/or bring charges against Owner, occupier or manager of premises under section18(2) FSA
