European Funding Programmes – ESIF European Structural and Investment Funds Over half of EU funding is challenged through these ESIF. They are jointly managed by the European Commission and the EU countries. The purpose of all these funds is to invest in job creation and a sustainable and healthy European economy and environment. European Funding Programmes – ESIF European Structural and Investment Funds The 5 Funds: European regional development fund (ERDF) promotes balanced development in the different regions in the EU European social fund (ESF) supports employment-related projects throughout Europe and invests in Europe‘s human capital – its workers, its young people and all those seeking a job European agricultural fund for rural development (EAFRD) focuses on resolving the particular challenges facing EU‘s rural areas EU Contact Point for Public Procurement of Innovation

European Funding Programmes – ESIF European Structural and Investment Funds The 5 Funds: European maritime and fisheries fund (EMFF) helps fishermen to adopt sustainable fishing practices and coastel communities to diversify their economies, improve quality of life along European coasts. Cohesion fund (CF) funds transport and environment projects in countries where the forss national income (GIN) per inhabitant is less than 90% of the EU average. In 2014-2020, these are Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Interreg: European Territorial Co-operation (ETC) 25.04.2018 Interreg: European Territorial Co-operation (ETC) Main goals: ETC or Interreg is one of the two goals of cohesion policy and provides a framework for the implementation of joint actions and policy exchange between national, regional and local actors from different Member States. Interreg: European Territorial Co-operation (ETC) 25.04.2018 Interreg: European Territorial Co-operation (ETC) Interreg is built around 3 strands of cooperation: Cross-border (Interreg A) Transnational (Interreg B) and Interregional (Interreg C) The 5th period of Interreg is based on 11 investment priorities laid down in ERFD Regulation contributing to the delivery of the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. At least 80% of the budget for each cooperation programme has to concentrate on a maximum of 4 thematic ojectives among the 11 priorities: EU Contact Point for Public Procurement of Innovation

Interreg: European Territorial Co-operation (ETC) 25.04.2018 Interreg: European Territorial Co-operation (ETC) Interreg A – cross-border cooperation: European Cross-Border cooperation, known as Interreg A, supports cooperation between NUTS III regions from at least two different Member States lying directly on the borders or adjacent to them. It aims to tackle common challenges identified jointly in the border regions and to exploit the untapped growth potential in border areas, while enhancing the cooperation process for the purposes of the overall harmonious development of the Union. Interreg: European Territorial Co-operation (ETC) 25.04.2018 Interreg: European Territorial Co-operation (ETC) Interreg B – transnational cooperation: Transnational cooperation, know as Interreg B, involves regions from several countries of the EU forming bigger areas. It aims to promote better cooperation and regional development within the Union by a joint approach to tackle common issues. Interreg B supports a wide range of project investment related to innovation, environment, accessibility, telecommunications, urban development etc. The transnational programmes add an important extra European dimension to regional development, developed from analysis at a European level, leading to agreed priorities and a coordinated strategic response. It builds networks to develop good practice and facilitate the exchange and transfer of experience by successful regions. It showcases what regions do well, to the benefit of those still investing. 25.04.2018 Creative Europe Creative Europe is the European Commission’s framework programme for support to the culture and audiovisual sectors. It is divided into 2 subprogrammes: Culture sector initiatives, such as those promoting cross-border cooperation, platforms, networking and literary translation MEDIA audivisual sector initiatives, such as those promoting the development, distribution or access to audiovisual works and is supported by cross-sectoral strand, including a Guarantee Facility and transnational policy cooperation (e.g. the NCP network).
