NCHS STEM Acceptance Night Congrats C/O 2021 STEM Students! Please be sure to grab a packet before we begin!

STEM Program Rules and Expectations CCS Magnet Policy 80% or higher average in all courses Pass ALL classes (STEM and non-STEM) Miss no more than 8 days per semester Follow all NCHS rules and procedures Actively participate in class Extracurricular Involvement Clubs Organizations Athletics Consequences Probation Possible removal from the program

Please be sure to turn in the CCS Magnet Policy and your STEM Agreement (signed by parent and student) to me before leaving tonight

Technology Policy CCS High School STEM Program Technology Policy, Procedures, and Information 2017-2018   Cabarrus County Schools are committed to preparing students for the 21st Century. 21st Century learning requires that students be literate, responsible citizens in a technological society. The CCS STEM program recognizes this necessity with the implementation of its one-to-one initiative. Freshmen and Sophomore students will receive a Chromebook before the start of the semester. **THE FULL POLICY IS AVAILABLE ON THE CCHS WEBSITE (will be loaded to the NCHS website soon)** **Tech policy and payment must be received before student can receive technology. **All STEM students must use CCS technology. No personal laptops will be allowed.

BLENDED LEARNING -Blended courses allow teachers to reach and teach students more effectively. -They reach multiple learning styles of students for better learning -In addition, blended courses prepare students for 21st century learning and the rigor of online courses that they may encounter during their high school and university careers.

9th Grade Curriculum STEM Math II STEM English STEM World History (Blended) STEM Science STEM PE/Health STEM Principles of Discovery and Design STEM Technology, Engineering and Design Possible electives – Robotics, Band, Chorus, Art, etc…

Transportation and Hub Stops Every student must complete a ridership form! If your student lives outside of the NCHS zone, they will have to use a hub stop (unless you provide your own transportation). If you are unsure, please visit this site: http://apps.schoolsitelocator.com/?districtCode=97236 **Note: hub stop buses might contain non-STEM students.
