Definition of Tobacco Facts According to Merriam Webster’s Online Dictionary: any of a genus (Nicotiana) of chiefly American plants of the nightshade family with viscid foliage and tubular flowers; especially : a tall erect annual tropical American herb (North tabacum) cultivated for its leaves the leaves of cultivated tobacco prepared for use in smoking or chewing or as snuff

Facts On Tobacco 9 out of 10 smokers start before the age of 18, and 98% start smoking by age 26. 1 in 5 adults and teenagers smoke. Smoking slows down lung growth in children and teens. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women in the United States.
