A mi hermano menor le gusta mirarse en el espejo. Have the kids open their notebooks to section 1 and write these sentences in English. Give them about 5 minutes to do this activity, then have 5 of them write the answers on the board. Have the class check to see if what is written on the board is correct. My mom is thin and blond. My sisters wear glasses. My dog has orange hair. My best friend has a lof of secrets. My younger brother likes to look at himself in the mirror.

Give them time to work on these papers. The first page is notes to help them do the activities. They can work on these activities for 15 minutes or so. If they don’t get them done in class then they become homework.

Mi casa En tu cuaderno, dibuja tu casa como el ejemplo de la profe. El baño En tu cuaderno, dibuja tu casa como el ejemplo de la profe. Identifica los cuartos en español. El comedor La cocina El garaje El dormitorio La sala In section 3 of their notebooks they need to draw a layout of their house similar to the one that is on the PowerPoint. They need to identify each of the room. They will ask about other rooms that are not on this slide, tell them just to lable the room in their house that are on this slide. These are the only rooms that they will be tested on. Here is the English Translation for you. El garaje- garage El baño- bathroom La cocina-kitchen El comedor- dining room El dormitorio- bedroom La sala-living room. This should take the remainder of the class period. If they have more than 1 level on their house they need to do a drawing for each level. Again, the only thing that needs to be labeled are the ones on this slide.

Mi familia Dibuja un “foto” de tu familia. Escoje un compañero. Practica hablando de tu familia. Let the kids know that they will be doing a Show and Tell about their family within in the next few class periods and will need to bring a picture of their family to be able to share and talk about their family.
