Adventurous science classes for young children.... www.witjassies.co.za; www.littlelabcoats.co.za; witjassies@gmail.com Adventurous science classes for young children....

What is our mission? To provide out of the box science classes for children from different backgrounds Science with a difference! We add stories, pictures to colour, and songs to every week’s experiment to develop science into something understandable, attainable and FUN!

Why science with a difference? The programme was developed by scientists with young children that felt the need for science classes that explained scientific principles to children in such a way that they learned something (that they can remember) while they were having fun!

How does a class work? Takes about 30 minutes to complete Takes place during or after school A maximum of 11 Little Lab Coats per session are suggested 8 lessons per school quarter Trained facilitators present classes on the school grounds: in a class, under a tree, on a patch of grass or any other suitable place Can be presented in English or Afrikaans

What does a class entail? The adventures of Molly and Marius mice provide the setting for the lesson’s experiment before everybody: Does an experiment Solves a problem Visits the Castle of Elements Listens to a song Learns something new!

What does it mean to a child to be a Little Lab Coat? Horizons are broadened Their confidence gets a major boost They work with safe, real-life scientific apparatus They learn to ask questions and by experimenting arrive at the answer They learn that science is easy, comprehensible and FUN! They approach science with excitement and feel like real scientists!

Curriculum & Fees Ask for a free demonstration! Our lessons cover topics from various fields that are listed below with some examples included: Chemistry (make carbon dioxide and absorption) Physics (learn about gravity and pressure) Geography (rivers and erosion) Geology (geodes and fold mountains) Meteorology (rain and convection) Astronomy (moon and Mars) Palaeontology (dinosaurs and fossils) Biology (lungs and energy) Quarterly R450 Registration R180 (includes laboratory coat) Special rates apply if whole grades or classes are enrolled (prices on request)
