Immersion Courses in Scotland for Teachers of English Summer 2016 – Easter 2017

LFEE Europe has been an international course provider since 2002 About Us LFEE Europe has been an international course provider since 2002 Our partnership with Confluence Scotland has produced a successful team of experienced and fully qualified native speaker teachers, committed to promoting British culture and the English language in Europe. This is our 14th year under this European Union programme, and our expertise in delivering in-service training courses is now recognised by many National Agencies.

About the Courses The venue is Edinburgh, capital of Scotland, a UNESCO World Heritage City The course includes information on the different UK education systems and also on Scotland’s culture and history. Our courses are fun and motivating and take place in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Please note that these courses are not suitable for beginners. The training sessions are delivered in English. Participants will be encouraged to speak English as much as possible in social situations and on the cultural excursions. Follow-up: participants will receive a Certificate at the end of the week and will also have the opportunity to join a Europe-wide network of all participants

Course Dates: 2016-2017 Courses run from Saturday to Saturday Course Title Start Dates Venue Teaching English to Young Adults/Adults (18+) 23 July – 30 July 2016 Edinburgh, Scotland Teaching English in the Primary School Teaching English in the Secondary School Courses will be offered during October 2016 and Easter 2017. Please contact immersions@lfee.net for further information and course dates Funding for our courses is available through the European Union Erasmus+ Programme. Successful applicants will receive funding which covers the cost of the course tuition fee, subsistence and accommodation, as well as travel expenses. Please contact LFEE Europe as soon as possible to provisionally reserve a place on the course of your choice. We will keep applicants informed on how to apply for funding through Erasmus+. If fewer than 10 participants per course, the course will be cancelled and we will transfer you to an alternative course.

Course Aims To update participants’ competence and discursive skills in English To enhance methodological expertise in the teaching of English To update vocabulary, consolidate and gain new ideas and materials for use in the classroom To use internet and other ICT resources in class To use published, authentic and audio-visual material in class To develop cultural awareness and understanding of contemporary Britain To share experience and ideas with colleagues from other European regions

Typical Course Programme Day 1: Travelling Day. Welcome Drinks and buffet served from 7pm onwards Day 2 to Day 7: 8am to 9am Breakfast 9.15am to 12.30pm Classes 12.30pm to 1.30pm Lunch 1.30pm to 4.00pm Classes 7pm Dinner Day 8: Travelling Day ******** Cultural Activities included within the Programme are as follows: guided tour of Edinburgh tour of Lothian’s castles and coastlines (Summer and Easter courses only) dinner in a traditional Scottish restaurant activity evening in one of Edinburgh’s oldest pubs

Registration Information Funding: All participants will receive support from the European Union Erasmus+ Programme Funding fully covers: Registration and tuition fees Accommodation Full board Cultural excursions Travel expenses Accommodation: Single room in shared accommodation located in Edinburgh city centre (Summer courses). Individual hotel accommodation for October & Easter courses.
