** 5th Grade ** Week of: September 6, 2016 Allaso Ranch Info may be found on the 5th Grade Team Website. Please remember to turn in any medication to the nurse by Friday. Picture Day is Tuesday 9/13. This week we are “attacking” decimals – understanding place value, revisiting how to +/- decimals, comparing, estimating and rounding. We will test over the first 2 chapters on Monday or Tuesday next week. (TEKS 2A, 2B, 2C, 3A, 3K) Goal Setting continues with tracking sheets so students can daily monitor their progress of reaching their independent Reading goals! We also spent time looking into Greek and Latin Root words to build Vocabulary. “Which animal is a bipedal, an ostrich or an elephant?” (TEKS 1(A) 2(A) (B) Monday we will review our Geography study guide for a test on Sept. 19th. We have our 1st Guidance Lesson with Mrs. Lindberg on Tuesday. Please ask your student what they learned with her. Scientists have been studying the Scientific Process, Safety and Tools. TEKS: 24(C), 25 (A), 6 (B) Your student will complete the writing process & publish his/her 1st personal narrative. TEKS: 17 (A) Join PTA Allaso Ranch 9/14-16 Picture Day 9/13, Tues.
