Presentation transcript:

How to Access the AISC Library Navigate to http://library.aisc.ac.cy from anywhere in the world you have an Internet connection.

You will then see this Screen: click on HOME to access Databases, and CATALOG to access the online Catalog.

In Catalog, click on POWER SEARCH to access the most (powerful) options

Note that in POWER SEARCH you have the options to search by Title, Subject, Keyword, Author, etc Unless you know the specific Title, or the Author, we do recommend you search by KEYWORD.

We are doing a search on the topic of Science (KEYWORD) in our Catalog: Note that in the Results, you will see the call number and the fact that the book is available for checkout.

Results from the previous search on Science in our AISC Catalog.

Using Power Search, our catalog is quite powerful: you can change the Interest Level to reflect books appropriate for Pre-School to 3rd Grade.

To locate books that are more appropriate for the lower Elementary grades, go to Interest Level found in Power Search, towards the bottom of the screen when using Power Search.

This is now the refined or revised search with the Interest Level changed from PreSchool to Grade 3.

Yes, we do have access to eBOOKS Yes, we do have access to eBOOKS! To access eBooks, click on Follett Shelf to the left (once in the Catalog)

Yes, we do have eBooks! Click on FOLLETT SHELF once in the Catalog...

Clicking on Follett Shelf will yield eBooks: these can be looked at and checked out anywhere, from Home or Office, you don’t need to come to the Library: this you can do totally on your own!

Let’s delve a little deeper in the Catalog, as our new updated version offers many sophisticated options. Here we have our original search on Science

If you see a Book with Details to the right of the title, click on the word Details and then on Webpath Express for more materials.

Clicking on Webpath Express will yield authoritative websites on that topic, as judged to be the best by Librarians and Educators .

WebPath Express through our Library Catalog will give you access to HomeWork Help.

Here are some of the Homework Helpers you have access to through WebPath Express (websites judged as the best by Educators.) Note the Grade Level to the right of the screen.

Finally, WebPath Express allows you access to the best Web Sites by subjects.

We will take Math as an example and click on the Plus (+) Key before Math to see the breakdown of topics

Clicking on “Real World Math” will result in these helpful Websites – again, judged the most useful by professional educators and Math Teachers
